| "The SNP are committed to pulling the Union apart. This would not only effect Scotland but would damage the whole of the United Kingdom. The Union has worked and still works and it is vital that we defend the principles behind it."

I joined the Conservative party while at University. As I looked at what Labour wanted to do there was no alternative but to support the then Conservative Government. Labour's policies on the economy, defence and education weren't workable and would have been a disaster for the country.
Seventeen years later I still believe the Conservative Party is the only party that can move Britain on and stand up for us in a changing world. Labour polices might have changed and their image is different but the underlying philosophy is still there. Labour believes that Government knows best and wants to intervene in peoples' lives wherever and whenever possible. They want to sell Britain short by giving away our currency and their attitude towards the family is dangerous.
I have stood as a candidate for the Party on several occasions and believe our polices would be best for the majority in the country and would safeguard many of the things that we take for granted. We as Conservatives need to think radically on areas such as education, health and transport. The present policies are clearly not working and at the next election I believe a radical alternative needs to be offered to the electorate. Only the Conservatives can do that.
In Scotland we have another danger to tackle: that of independence. The SNP are committed to pulling the Union apart. This would not only effect Scotland but would damage the whole of the United Kingdom. The Union has worked and still works and it is vital that we defend the principles behind it.
