Wind Farms
Whilst no one doubts that there is a place for wind power, the enormous scale of the Gwynt y MĂ´r proposal, combined with its proximity to the North Wales coast, renders it unacceptable.
One of the principal industries of North Wales is tourism. It is self-evident that the presence off the coast of Clwyd West of a huge wind farm would create an industrialised seascape and amount to a significant deterrent to visitors who otherwise might wish to visit the area. The consequent effect upon the economy of the constituency would be very grave.
I am seriously concerned as to the impact these developments will have upon my constituents’ amenity and livelihood. I have already received a large number of representations objecting to the proposal, and believe serious debate is needed over the future of wind energy in North Wales.
